SYNERGIA - 5th training session in Budapest, Hungary
On May 15-17, 2023 the fifth training session took place in Budapest, as part of the 4th edition of the Synergia project. The session was attended by representatives of public administration from Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia and Hungary. The co-organizer of the session was the project partner – the University of Public Service from Hungary (https://en.uni-nke.hu/).
Session opening
The opening of the session was attended by the rector of the University of Public Service, dr. Deli Gergely, who warmly welcomed the participants to Budapest and wished them fruitful work, emphasizing in his speech how important the development of professional competences of senior management officials is for the functioning of effective administration.
Program
The session program includes classes in the following thematic areas:
- communication management in public administration,
- institutional management,
- effective negotiations,
The session program was divided into two parts. The aim of the first one was to understand the principles and procedures of conflict resolution in the public sphere and crisis management, as well as the needs of public opinion in this respect. During the course, a lot of time was devoted to the analysis of the best practices of institutional communication in both public and private organizations. An important aspect of the training was also work on the development of interpersonal communication skills in order to deal with conflict and crisis situations through practical exercises including oral presentations for difficult audiences and the media. Participants of the training know how important internal communication is for their role as team leaders and how to develop a media strategy to gain public support for institutional projects.
In the second part of the program, Hungarian trainers, during workshops on leadership, together with the participants, thought about the next stages of professional development of a manager and the competences necessary at these stages, as well as actions and habits that should be left behind when moving to another level in the management structure of the institution.
Form of implementation
The session was organized in the form of a trip, classes were held from 8:30/9:00 a.m.
to 4:30/5:00 p.m.
